I was excited to see this little Bourke is going to be pink! You can start to see it in the pin feathers on her head and even more so down her back. It’s my first rosy to hatch.

Baby Rosy Bourke

Baby Rosy Bourke

This little one hatched on December 21, 2012. It was from the second clutch of Pinky and his mate (a normal hen). Each time they had five eggs but only one hatched.

Their first offspring was a normal color. From what I understand of genetics, since Pinky, the male, is rosy, all female offspring will be rosy. Since the hen is normal, all male offspring will be normal. So that means this little one is a hen! She looks to have a lot of yellow as well. I’ll post more photos as her feathers open more.
